It is funny how humanity is described as a bunch of characteristics that belong uniquely to human beings, such as kindness, mercy and sympathy. Some humans fail to have these in themselves and still call themselves ‘human.

The more we educate ourselves, the more inhumane we become, is that what it has come to? The smarter we are, the more inhumane things we do. Instead of using our brains to do some good, we go ahead and convert pineapple into a bomb. The person who did this undoubtedly has a lot of brains but not an ounce of humanity in him.

Every day I open social media with the hope of reading something good, but instead, I get more and more heartbreaking news. Just because we are humans, we have the right to treat other living creatures like their lives don't matter?

Animal cruelty has become a thing in our country. They are making elephants eat food filled with a firecracker, stepping on a few weeks old kitten while she walks, hanging a monkey from a tree branch to die and many more outrageous things like these. What’s worse is that, instead of helping the poor animal, people have a fun time recording it and putting it up on social media. And no, most of them don’t put it up for awareness purpose but with the purpose of their twisted amusement. If you have enough time to record a misery, how about helping to end the suffering? But no, they are too cold-hearted and inhumane to do so.

Just talking about animal cruelty won’t help. What will help is, spreading awareness, lending a hand to NGOs trying to make this world a better place, being the voice of creatures who can’t speak for themselves. Abusing animals in any way should not be a means for amusement, and if it is, then please pay a visit to a psychiatrist.
